NME Showcases brought to you by H&M Loves Music

Superior's Amanda and Josie were excited to attend an exclusive evening with NME and H&M recently, where Libertines legend turned solo star, Carl Barat played festival anthems in Glasgow's Buchanan St. H&M store.

The singer also played two new songs from his forthcoming second solo LP.

 H&M SS13

Carl was accompanied by a backing band including two of his former Dirty Pretty Things band mates - guitarist Anthony Rossomando and former Libertines drummer Gary Powell.

Taking to the stage in front of a crowd of 400 at Buchanan Street's branch of the clothes shop, the quartet began with a trio of Dirty Pretty Things tracks including 'Bang Bang You're Dead', 'Wondering' and 'Deadwood'.

The band then continued with recent release 'War of the Roses', Libertines favourite 'Horrorshow' and previous solo track 'Run With the Boys' before leaving Barat to perform an acoustic, solo portion of the set.

Barat launched into a version of 50's standard famously covered by Michael Jackson, 'Rockin' Robin', then moved onto Libertines favourites 'What Katie Did', 'The Ballad of Grimaldi' and 'France' before welcoming his band mates back onto the stage as the crowd chanted "Carl Fucking Barat". Together the band played Dirty Pretty Things favourite 'Blood Thirsty Bastards' and debuted new Barat song, 'Victory Gin'.

Carl and co concluded with a fan-friendly bout of 'Gin And Milk' and Libs classics 'Death on the Stairs', 'Don't Look Back Into the Sun' and 'I Get Along', with members of the audience attempting to crowd surf - Glasgow we salute you.

House of Fraser: Handbag Event

Last week we were lucky to grab ourselves an invite to House of Fraser's first festive shopping event of the season. We were treated to the luxury handbag department, with brands such as Hermes, Mulberry, Prada, Gucci and Anya Hindmarch on show. There were limited edition edition pieces that were brought into store especially for the event. As expected we drooled over these, but luckily for us there were lovely refreshments and canapés from Thai Restaurant Chaophraya to help us recover. In addition to the handbags and accessories, we were also wowed by a stunning acrobatics display. To wrap up the event there was a raffle for a Mulberry scarf, one which was being knitted in front of our very eyes.

All in all it was a lovely evening, were we left very satisfied with our Christmas purchases. If you are looking for the ultimate shopping destination, where you can buy all your gifts in the one place, then House of Fraser is for you! They have great offers in-store now so get your shopping shoes on and head there ASAP!

House of Fraser & Itison's Mega Day Preview

Superior had the pleasure of working with House of Fraser for their Mega Day Preview ItIsOn event, we would like to say well done to everyone that was involved with this great night!

We were treated to up to 40% off favourite brands, mini makeovers and special gifts with some of our purchases! We also couldn't help but start to plan our Christmas outfits after seeing our girls looking fabulous on the catwalk and pleased to see us accompanied by hunky males from Glasgow's Warriors who did a great job showing themselves off down the runway.

This fantastic, exclusive event was also in support of Yorkhill's Children's Foundation.

Have a look below at the images from Artur Drazkowski.
