NME Showcases brought to you by H&M Loves Music

Superior's Amanda and Josie were excited to attend an exclusive evening with NME and H&M recently, where Libertines legend turned solo star, Carl Barat played festival anthems in Glasgow's Buchanan St. H&M store.

The singer also played two new songs from his forthcoming second solo LP.

 H&M SS13

Carl was accompanied by a backing band including two of his former Dirty Pretty Things band mates - guitarist Anthony Rossomando and former Libertines drummer Gary Powell.

Taking to the stage in front of a crowd of 400 at Buchanan Street's branch of the clothes shop, the quartet began with a trio of Dirty Pretty Things tracks including 'Bang Bang You're Dead', 'Wondering' and 'Deadwood'.

The band then continued with recent release 'War of the Roses', Libertines favourite 'Horrorshow' and previous solo track 'Run With the Boys' before leaving Barat to perform an acoustic, solo portion of the set.

Barat launched into a version of 50's standard famously covered by Michael Jackson, 'Rockin' Robin', then moved onto Libertines favourites 'What Katie Did', 'The Ballad of Grimaldi' and 'France' before welcoming his band mates back onto the stage as the crowd chanted "Carl Fucking Barat". Together the band played Dirty Pretty Things favourite 'Blood Thirsty Bastards' and debuted new Barat song, 'Victory Gin'.

Carl and co concluded with a fan-friendly bout of 'Gin And Milk' and Libs classics 'Death on the Stairs', 'Don't Look Back Into the Sun' and 'I Get Along', with members of the audience attempting to crowd surf - Glasgow we salute you.
