Queen of Lace is a collaboration of decorative hoods and veils made by local designer Chouchou with Rene Walrus. Using lace from the last surviving lace factory in Scotland, MYB Textiles to create a couture collection of decadence for the brave and the beautiful.
MYB Textiles, based in Ayrshire is the only producer in the world manufacturing beautifully crafted lace and madras fabrics for the luxury market. The rich history of the textile and theme of the collection was reflected within the renaissance inspired photo shoot, shot in Glasgow’s haunting Necropolis by photographer Stew Bryden.
Chouchou has made her stamp in fashion by specializing in luxury detached hoods. She joined forces with award winning accessories designer Rene Walrus to create an exciting couture collection, and celebrate the wonder of the locally sourced fabrics.
Each veil has been individually hand embroidered using couture techniques and finished with a combination of Swarovski crystals and bohemian glass beads. Some of the lace has been treated to obtain a special colour‐ graphic effect and a one of a kind statement. Made for the haute couture bride or the wild at heart, the collection gives a nod to the past including vintage names such as Eleanor, Vivian, Violet, Lillian and Beatrice.
